How to cope with work overload in Internet Marketing
- 0 Comments
We all have the same problem. There is a lot of work to do, but limited resources. But what can I do?

Time Management
1. Time and task management
I found out I need to organize myself better, manage my time better. Sometimes I found myself working on a task for too long. Especially when doing keyword research I tend to fall into browsing websites for hours. Not good! I need to analyze which tasks are stealing my time away. I also need to make priorities.
2. Effective planning
Sometimes I just start working without a proper plan. Not good! I learned that I can only achieve goals if I determine certain amount of time to each task. And after the time is up, I move to next task. Sometimes I just keep doing the same task for more time than planned and than I can`t follow the plan. Not good! I decided I will stick to the plan. Oh. another thing: I create a plan every day before I go to sleep and put it on my desk. So first thing I see in the morning is my daily plan.
3. Killing time wasters
I hate when people think I am the tech-guy that knows everything about computers. I know I am nice and polite and I like to help people with computer problems. But this is not good for my productivity! I found out to cut some of my habits such as phone calls, instant messengers, emails, news checking,… when I am actively working. The fact is these things often pop-up unexpectedly and disturb my work.
4. Value my time
This is indirectly connected with work overload. I used to accept projects with lower budgets to help people get started on internet. But the truth is, there is as much work as there would be with a good paying customer, but the pay is way lower. And that forces me to do even more work to get by the month. Not good! I need to set myself a price that is fair and that reflects my knowledge and experience. Only by doing this I can support my Internet Marketing journey.
Start making changes
Huh! Nice read. But if I want to make a difference I need to put these things into action! Here is what I will be doing from today on:
- Create a plan for next day before going to bed.
- Work on each task only for the time predicted. Than move to the next task.
- Eliminate time wasters.
- Accept only projects that have a normal budget. Learn to say no when necessary!
Ok. This is my list. How are you guys coping with work overload?
