What I learned from Shoemoney Webinar?

As you may already know Shoemoney did a Webinar on blogging (March 11th, 2009). Here is what I learned from it and what things I decided to apply for 51Grand.com:

1. How to write for my blog?

• Write 1 great post EVERY DAY! (It is hard but I will try, I promise!)
• Connect with your readers!
• Keep going with your passion.
• Don`t try to break news!
• You don`t need Google.
• Build credibility.
• Find your story.

2. How to promote my blog?

• Join forums and give people great advice.
• Join social networks like Twitter, Facebook and Digg.
• Start guest posting on other blogs.
• Contribute to other blogs.

3. How to monetize my blog?

• Start with direct Ad Sales (the hardest but most lucrative)
  • prepare a nice media kit.
  • start with super low prices, then raise.
  • set up a contact form.
  • communicate with everyone, than follow up!
• Contextual ads (Adsense)
• Donations -add a donate page
• Subscriptions
• Physical Goods
• Affiliate Marketing
• Text links and Paid posts

I will try to write my daily post early in the morning, so I will need to get up earlier! To start the money rolling in I will first start with direct Ad sales and donations. I `ll see how it goes.
